WORLD-CLASS SPORT FISHING

catch the big one!

crocodile bay voted as one of the top international family fishing destinations.

Costa Rica is a world-renowned destination for sport fishing and Crocodile Bay has earned the reputation of “Where the World Comes to Fish.”

Crocodile Bay prides itself on having the largest professional sportfishing team in Central America with in-house captains and mates able to cater to all skill levels. Diego Camacho has taken the helm as Fishing Director from Todd Staley who created their fishing program and acted as Director for 20 years. Staley is still around acting as an advisor to Crocodile Bay while working full time marine conservation in Costa Rica. Diego is a native-born Costa Rican who moved to the states at nine years old and spent 20 years cutting his fishing teeth in Marathon and Key West. What makes Diego unique is that he deeply understands both cultures, and uses his knowledge to manage employees and the expectations of our guests equally well. Diego and his crew are dedicated to providing education and training to ensure you enjoy the fishing trip of a lifetime. Offshore, Inshore, Kayak and Surf/Shore fishing excursions are available, each uniquely challenging and equally rewarding.

World-class bill fishing for sailfish and marlin starts just outside the mouth of the Golfo Dulce, about a forty-five minute boat ride from their iconic 800-foot pier. Fishing is “catch and release” using safe circle hooks. The fishing director and English-speaking captains will work with you to accommodate any fishing technique.

In addition to cobalt blue water, the smooth Golfo Dulce provides anglers exciting inshore action. Home to the roosterfish, bluefin trevally, jacks, grouper and many other, you will find plenty of different fishing spots to try in this 30-mile-long saltwater gulf.

cROCODILE BAY'S SPORT FISHING CREW

Most of our crewmembers grew up in the area and know the waters well. Our crews will give you as much or as little help as you want. We want this to be a great experience and communication with your crew enhances your visit here. You will be pleasantly surprised to find an English speaking crew member on your boat as that is not always the case in other fishing operations.
