When planning your visit to the Osa Peninsula, we recommend scheduling your international flight into San Jose, Cosa Rica where the airport code is SJO. From here we can handle your Costa Rica travel logistics. Upon your arrival, our team will be there to greet you and transfer you to one of San Jose’s newest hotel properties, The Hilton La Sabana. The Hilton La Sabana is located near the city central and is one of the tallest buildings in San Jose which offers stunning views of the city. Enjoy your first night in San Jose.

Your adventure begins with a breathtaking 45 minute flight from Costa Rica’s Capital City (San Jose) across lush coffee plantations and the spectacular Talamanca mountain range. During your flight you will experience spectacular views of Central America’s largest coastal rainforest and land in the charming town of Puerto Jimenez where the edge of the rainforest bathes in the warm waters of the Pacific. The Botanika staff will escort you from the airstrip to hotel where you will have a fresh mango/rum cocktail in your hand within minutes. Welcome to paradise!

After a quick orientation by our fishing director and an update on recent fishing activities, you pick your pleasure inshore or offshore. The 800-foot pier is located only 5 minutes from your room. Boats are outfitted with top-of-the-line fishing gear and you are accompanied by professional, English-speaking crew. Daily fishing includes your Costa Rica fishing licenses, gear, bait and an on-board cooler with a picnic style lunch, snacks, cold beer, water and other non-alcoholic beverages.

The tropical lowland rainforest is the most species rich land-based ecosystem on Earth. It is a land of enchantment made up of brilliantly colored birds (the Scarlet Macaw and the Chestnut-mandible Toucan), rare mammals (Sloth), four species of monkeys (Howler, White-faced, Spider and Squirrel), along with Peccaries, and wild cats. If you do only one, this is the eco tour we recommend to give you a sense of what the rainforest is all about.
Open Day
Today you can spend the day with the kids enjoying Botanika’s new lagoon-style pool. You might consider adding another tour or visiting the town of Puerto Jimenez. Mom will enjoy her facial. Additional tours at extra cost.
Inshore Or Offshore Fishing | 24' Boston Whaler
Enjoy your second day of family fishing! Staff from our fishing department will visit you each night around dinner time to see how your day was, address any concerns and to plan your next days trip. Our Boston Whalers and Strike tower boats go inshore or offshore, so spend the day doing either one or a little of both.

Upon your arrival back into San Jose, your driver will be waiting to take you back to the international terminal for your flight home. For a same day connection, schedule your International Departure after 1 pm.
